Art Journal Page: Give Good Face
/
It's been a while since I opened up a journal and created a page. It's taken a bit of a creative backseat whilst I've been doodling and drawing away for Inktober.
However, I treated myself to a stamp from a brand new collection by my lovely friend Mark Gould (aka Speshink). He's created four stamps with Chocolate Baroque and the moment I saw the Sailor, I knew I had to have it!
After stamping the image onto card with a black archival ink, I drew the octopus body under it. I coloured the image with watercolour paints and pencils before cutting it out. The page was coated with red acrylic ink and then stamped over with a design from Carabelle Studios & Birgit Koopsen.
I stuck the sailor onto the page, doodled a border with a blue Posca paint pen, before printing out the title and adhering.
Love how fun it was to alter Mark's design and create a quirkier figure. Wish I could blame it on Halloween and all the freaky drawings I've been doing recently but in truth, I have odd thoughts all year round lol.
As for the quote "Give Good Face", it's sage advice from Diva Rules by the vogue queen herself, Michelle Visage!
